Campground amenities

At every site

• Wooden tent decking — level, cleared, ready to pitch on. Most sites have a 16 x 16 platform. One site, Yosemite 5, has open level ground instead and a great deal more of it.
• Fire ring — fires in the ring only, and check the Macon County burn ban first
• Fire extinguisher and water bucket at the site
• 100+ feet of spacing from the nearest neighboring site
• Parking at your site for one vehicle or van

On the property

• Portable restrooms, serviced regularly
• Firewood and charcoal for sale from Carman, who lives on site
• Paved main road up the mountain
• On-site manager living on the property year-round
• Well water on the property — a tap and hose fed from our own well, so you can fill up here rather than hauling it in. Lines to individual sites are going in this season.

What we don’t have

• No electric hookups at any site. Come self-contained.
• No permanent bathhouse yet. Portable restrooms serve the property this season.
• No dump station.
• No trash bins. Pack in, pack out.
• No guest WiFi — though there’s 5G on the mountain, so most people don’t miss it.
• No trailers or towed campers. Tents and self-contained Class B vans only.
• No camp store. Downtown Franklin is 8 minutes away. Firewood and charcoal briquettes are the two things we do sell, from Carman on site — here’s how to pay.

What to bring

• A jug or bottles to carry water from the tap to your site
• A headlamp — the mountain gets genuinely dark
• Layers. It runs cooler up here than in town, and colder after sunset than you expect.
• Trash bags — there are no bins here, so what you bring up comes back down with you
• Anything you’d need for cooking — we provide the fire ring, not the grate or the fuel
