Shenandoah 2
Shenandoah 2 sits in a small clearing that feels like its own room in the woods. Off to one side is a pile of large rocks tumbling down the slope — not a wall or anything to climb, more like a few rough steps you can walk down. It gives the site a bit of shape. After a good rain you can sometimes hear a creek running somewhere below.

Site details
| Site number | 02 of 17 |
|---|---|
| Tent deck | Four decks, 16 x 16 |
| Vehicles | Up to 25 feet. Once you head in to this site there’s nowhere to turn a van around, so plan on reversing one direction or the other. We’d suggest backing in when you arrive rather than backing out when you leave — reversing up a hill is usually easier to control than reversing down one — but it’s your call. Fine if you’re comfortable reversing a van; pick 1 or 6 if you’d rather not. |
| Access | Off to the side shortly after you enter the campground. |
| Elevation | 2,360 ft |
| View | Into the forest |
| Sun | Open sky right above the deck — good sun from mid-morning into the afternoon. The first stretch of the driveway stays shaded. |
| Parking | Two cars in the driveway, though not much room to spare |
| Water | Well water at the site |
| Spacing | Sits in its own pocket at the end of the driveway. 175 feet to Everglades 3, the nearest site. |
| Hookups | None — come self-contained |
| Fire | Fire ring provided, on-property firewood only |
| Grill | Charcoal grill at the site |
| Notes | A rock pile on the slope gives the site some character. Books well with site 3 for two parties traveling together. |
